New Italian ''AICS'' IFV renders from the latest RID magazine

Although the Italian army had previously expressed their interest in the German-made Lynx IFV made by Rhienmentall, Italy has decided to delay any sort of acquisition to allow for a homegrown solution to be made. The current Italian army IFV, known as the VCC-80 Dardo is set to be put out of service in the near future, so this new requirement is of vital importance and must be met. Leonardo SpA has gotten Iveco DV alongside OTO Melara to create a series of renders for the new AICS IFV which were revealed to the Italian army earlier in February of this year. From the new renders, we can see the completely new hull design made by Iveco DV, which seems to be considerably bigger than the current Dardo design. In these early renders, it is seen mounted with 2 different types of weapon systems. The first is the 30mm Hitfist plus, currently in service on the Freccia IFV in the 25mm version, and the second armament is the Hitfact MK2, the same exact turret and armament that is fitted on the B2 Centauro.
