2E58 tank stabilizer

Image
The majority of the remaining Soviet MBTs in the Russian Army featured different 2-Plane stabilizers. Ranging from the 2E42-2 "Jasmin" on the T-72B to the 2E42-4 "Jasmin" being mounted on later modernization programs of the T-72B, like the T-72BA and T-72B2 "Rogatka-2". Additionally, the 2E42-4 is also mounted on several T-90 variants ranging from the T-90 Obr.1992 being the baseline variant to the more modern T-90A.  While the 2E42-4 was more modern than its predecessor, the 2E42-2, it still did not improve the guidance speeds for both horizontal and vertical axes. These speeds still remained the same; 3.0°/sec vertical elevation speed and 16°/sec-24°/sec horizontal guidance speed. ( 2E42-4 documentation ) By the late 2000s, the 2E42-4 was dated and was no longer able to perform that well in comparison with NATO stabilizers, which would outperform it.  This forced Russia to start developing a new stabilizer, instead of using the conventional type of previ

During the parade in Nizhny Novgorod dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Among the new products from the Central Research Institute "Burevestnik", the K-43269 was one of the newer variants to be shown to the public.  This new vehicle features the "Спица" - "Spitsa" remote-controlled combat module. The module features the wide-spread 2A42 30mm autocannon, which can fire AP or HE ammunition.  A similar product is mounted on an armoured vehicle "Typhoon-Airborne". It is also armed with a well-proven in many wars and conflicts 30-mm rapid-fire gun 2A42 and 7.62-mm machine gun 6P7K. Additionally features a modern sight system with tele-thermal imaging channels and a laser rangefinder.  However, there is also a difference, which consists of installing an AG-30 automatic grenade launcher on the left side of

T-64A with 3x 'Strela-3' MANPADS

Image
The usage of the "Strela" MANPADS was heavily widespread within motorized rifle, tank battalions, and anti-aircraft missile platoons. These special platoons would provide defense against air-based targets, such as helicopters and aircraft. At the time, several MBT variants would field 12,7mm anti-aircraft guns, such as the "Утёс" ("Utos" - Cliff), that would be operated by the commander of the vehicle, In the case of the 'Utos', the commander had to manually operate the heavy MG by exposing himself to the potential danger in the battlefield.    Throughout the years, 'Strela' underwent several modifications, varying from an improved thermal seeker head, which allowed the missile to operate better in cloudy conditions. Later modifications such as the 'Strela-2M' would offer a greater range of about 4000m.  Of course, these upgrades didn't end on simply improving the actual MANPADS. According to the press service of the Western Military District, the [7th separate] motorized rifle regiment of the [11th] Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet, stationed in Kaliningrad, received more than 30 modern BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles. Military personnel will begin to master the new equipment at the beginning of the summer training period. The new vehicles were delivered as part of the re-equipment program. Additionally, the new BMP-3 variant is equipped with mounting lugs for the ability to mount ERA. Since the beginning of the year, several batches of BMP-3 vehicles have been delivered to the troops. In January 2021, the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division ( presumably the 70th Motorized Rifle Regiment) stationed in Chechnya received a batch of more than 20 BMP-3 units. On April 2, 2021, forty BMP-3F units arrived in Vladivostok by train to rearm the battalion of the 155th Marine Brigade. In the 4th Kantemirovskaya Tank Division (Naro-Fominsk, Moscow region), according to the annou

BMP-2 equipped with Radio Fuze Jammer

As with any Russian May 9th parade, large cities that host parades perform repetitions, during which many interesting vehicle variants appear. During the parade preparation in Khabarovsk on May 4th, a new BMP-2 was spotted. The vehicle features the RP-377VM1 jamming station that is mounted above the troop compartment.  While RP-377VM1 is not a new electronic complex, it has been mounted on many different vehicles before, those primarily being; Typhoon-K - " Тайфуна-К  ", Lynx - "Рысь", Tiger -  "Тигр" and BTR variants.   BMP-2 equipped with RP-377VM1 Radio Fuze Jammer  The RP-377UVM1 complex is a small radio jamming station. New samples of Russian military equipment

Image
New samples of Russian military equipment are presented in the article by Lieutenant General N. M. Parshin "Prospects for the development of rocket and artillery weapons of Land and Airborne troops", published in the May issue of the journal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "Военная Мысль". Proposed design for an ATGM carrier with Fire-and-Forget capabilities For example, you can see an image of a self-propelled anti-tank missile system created on the BMD-4M chassis. This new product significantly increases the capabilities of the airborne units to combat various enemy armored objects. Speaking about the prospects of combat vehicles of this class, the author notes that further development may be associated with the creation of samples that implement the principle of "shot-forget" in a wide range of conditions of combat use. Among other equipment made on the basis of the armored personnel carrier BTR-MDM "Ракушка" - "Shell

Tracked version of the new armored reconnaissance vehicle will be shown at the parade in Tula

Image
At the rehearsal of the military parade in Tula, along with the already known samples, new military equipment was presented. For example, a tracked version of the mobile point of reconnaissance and target designation for the PRP-5 rocket and artillery systems. If the modification shown earlier is made on the basis of the BTR-82 armored personnel carrier, then this version is on the chassis of the well-proven long-term service in the BMP-3 troops. This infantry fighting vehicle is currently used not only in the land forces of the Russian Army, but also enters the Marine Corps of the Russian Navy. The armored scout is equipped with the latest equipment, including a radar station. Work has been carried out to strengthen the weapons - 7.62-mm machine guns were used on the samples of previous generations, and now the older 7.62mm samples have been replaced with new 12.7mm heavy machine gun systems.  The upgraded BMD-2M will also take part in the celebrations for the first time.
