T-80U with "Drozd" APS spotted during "Zapad-2021" vehicle departure

A T-80U with "Drozd" APS, part of the Kantemirovsk division (Lower Moscow), has been sighted at the "Zapad-2021" training event. The vehicle is being sent back to its original deployment area. 

Interestingly enough, its countermeasure launch tubes are missing. 

The vehicle seems to be in service but with its APS system being decommissioned, hence why it is lacking the launch tubes.

When covering Soviet sight technology there are always some interesting designs and approaches to solving an issue. It is a common fact that the Soviet Union in the 1980s-1990s was quite behind in thermal sight technology.   In 2004, the T-90A (Object 188A1) tank joined the Russian armed forces. It included many fire control system upgrades, a new welded turret, and improved mobility.
