Military contracts signed during Army-2021 Military Expo

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has signed more than 40 state contracts for the supply of more than 1300 samples of weapons and equipment worth more than 500 billion rubles during the seventh International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021". This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexey Krivoruchko following the signing of contracts on August 24, 2021. 

"Today, four state contracts were awarded and 41 were signed with 27 enterprises of the military-industrial complex worth more than 500 billion rubles," Krivoruchko said.

According to him, the signing of this package of contracts will be an important stage in the implementation of the State Armament Program. "As a result of the implementation of these state contracts, the Russian Armed Forces will be replenished with more than 1,300 new models of equipment, repairs will be carried out with the modernization of more than 150 units of weapons, military and special equipment," the deputy minister concluded.

- Contracts with JSC "Remdiesel" for the supply of protected aircraft-mounted special purpose vehicles (apparently, "Typhoon-Airborne"), armoured ambulances ("Lens"), as well as for the overhaul of lightly armoured MT-LB,

- A contract with JSC "766 UPTK" for robotic complexes "Uran-14" designed to fight fires.

- A contract with Kalashnikov Concern JSC for new 9M333 anti-aircraft guided missiles for the modernized Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system.

- Contracts with JSC "Kalashnikov Concern" for new batches of AK-12 assault rifles with delivery from 2022.

- A contract with JSC "Kronstadt" for the supply of five unmanned aircraft systems "Inokhodets-RU" ("Sirius").

- Contract with JSC "Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky" for the construction of two medium-sized reconnaissance ships (presumably based on the hull of a small sea tanker of project 03182)

- A contract with JSC Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant for the construction of another basic minesweeper of project 12700 (apparently, the ninth in the series, with the factory number 529).

- A contract with JSC "Corporation "Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering" (MIT) for the supply of a" mobile complex of command missiles "(apparently, "Sirena-M" based on the rocket complex     "Yars-M").

- A contract with JSC " Plant of Radio Engineering Equipment "(JSC "ZRTO", part of JSC "Concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz-Antey") for the supply of more than 20 sets of digital radio relay stations R-416GM for operational and strategic command of troops, during 2022-2023.

When covering Soviet sight technology there are always some interesting designs and approaches to solving an issue. It is a common fact that the Soviet Union in the 1980s-1990s was quite behind in thermal sight technology. GTD-1000 - GTD-1000TF - GTD-1250 Gas Turbine Engines

The world's first mass-produced tank gas turbine engine GTD-1000T was created at the Klimov Plant in 1968 for the T-80 main battle tank developed By the special tank design Bureau of the Kirov plant (now JSC "Spetsmash"), which was adopted by the Soviet Army in 1976. Since 1980, a modification of the GTD‑1000TF for T-80B/BV tanks was produced, since 1986 a modification of the GTD-1250 for T-80U tanks.  GTD-1250 Engines of the GTD-1250 family as part of the power plants of T-80 tanks are in service with the armies of Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, South Korea, Kazakhstan. A new sight for the modernized T-90

  Back in 2018, a new programme was started. This programme's focus is to create domestic equipment for Russian armoured vehicles, specifically optics. This is so that the Russian army can stop depending on the french company "Thales" and their Catherine technology. T-72B3 received new internal components for the Sosna-U sight, phasing out any foreign components. As for the T-90M/T-90MS, something else was done. Previously, the T-90M/T-90MS employed the Sosna-U sight, which featured french components from Thales. However, the internals of the sight was not simply replaced. This time, a completely new domestic sight was created under the name PNM-T. The sight was reportedly made by the PJSC ANPP TEMP-AVIA in 2018 or 2019.
