MOSCOW, February 8. / TASS /. The Metka portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) and a modification of the Tornado-G multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) on the chassis of the DT family tractor are being developed in Russia. This was stated by Major General Alexander Dudkin, head of the planning department for the provision of the Armed Forces with the main types of weapons, military equipment and other material resources of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces.

"Among the promising weapon systems are the assault robotic complex "Shturm", the anti-aircraft artillery complex "Derivatsiya-PVO", the "Metka" MANPADS, the "Ptitselov" air defence system, the "Tornado-G on DT" MLRS. And this is not the whole list," Dudkin said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.

Currently, a number of the latest weapons systems are being developed, adopted or tested by the state. "The Kinzhal and Zircon hypersonic complexes, the Kalibr cruise missiles, the Armata and Proryv-3 tanks, the Armata and Kurganets-25 infantry fighting vehicles, and the BTR have already been developed, put into service or are undergoing state tests. The family of chassis of two-link tracked tractors DT, developed by Vityaz Machine-Building Company JSC (Uralvagonzavod concern of Rostec State Corporation) includes DT-10PM, DT-20PM and DT-30PM transporters.
